Return and Refund Policy
Eligibility, timelines, and the process for requesting a refund on a Quick Prep plan, course, or coaching session.
Last updated: 8 September 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains when you can cancel or obtain a refund for anything bought from Quick Prep, how to ask for one, and how long it takes. It applies to every purchase made through quickprep.ca and forms part of our Legal Information.
Quick Prep sells three broad things, and the rules differ for each:
- Digital content — courses, guides, downloadable frameworks, case libraries, and other material delivered instantly or on access.
- Live services — one-to-one coaching, mock interviews, and reviews delivered at a scheduled time.
- Subscriptions — recurring plans giving continuing access to content and community.
There are no physical goods, so nothing needs to be shipped back.
2. Your statutory rights come first
Nothing in this policy limits or removes any right you have under applicable consumer protection legislation. Where the law of your jurisdiction gives you a stronger right than this policy offers, that stronger right applies.
In particular, you may have statutory rights where a service is not supplied with reasonable care and skill, where digital content is faulty or not as described, or where a distance contract gives you a cooling-off period. This policy sits on top of those rights, it does not replace them.
3. Digital content
3.1 The 14-day guarantee
For a first purchase of digital content, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if the material has not met your expectations.
Because digital content is delivered immediately, we ask that consumption stays below a reasonable threshold — as a guide, under 25% of the material accessed, viewed, or downloaded. This is not a trap: it exists so that the guarantee is not used to obtain a complete course for free. If you have genuinely worked through most of a course and it did not help, tell us why in your request and we will look at it on the merits rather than refuse automatically.
3.2 After 14 days
After 14 days, digital content purchases are generally final, except where:
- the content is materially not as described;
- a technical fault prevented access and we were unable to resolve it within a reasonable period after you reported it; or
- the purchase was duplicated in error.
3.3 Waiver of the cooling-off period
Where your jurisdiction provides a statutory cooling-off period for distance contracts, that period ordinarily ends once supply of digital content begins with your express consent. By starting a download or opening protected content within the cooling-off window, you consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that the statutory withdrawal right may be lost. The 14-day guarantee in section 3.1 is offered voluntarily and is separate from that statutory right.
4. Live coaching and mock interviews
4.1 Rescheduling and cancellation
- More than 24 hours before the session — reschedule or cancel at no charge. A cancelled session is refunded in full or returned to your balance, as you prefer.
- Within 24 hours — the session is chargeable, because the slot is reserved and can rarely be filled at short notice. We will always try to reschedule where we reasonably can.
- No-show — a session where you do not attend within 15 minutes of the start time, without notice, is chargeable in full.
4.2 If we cancel
If we cancel or reschedule a session, you may take an alternative slot at no cost or receive a full refund of that session. If a coach is more than 15 minutes late, you may treat the session as cancelled by us.
4.3 Unused sessions in a package
Sessions bought as a package are valid for 12 months from purchase. Unused sessions after that period expire and are not refundable, except where consumer protection law provides otherwise. We will remind you before expiry where we hold a valid email address for you.
5. Subscriptions
5.1 Cancelling
Cancel at any time from your account or by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
5.2 Refunds on renewals
We do not generally refund a period already begun. However:
- if you cancel within 5 days of an automatic renewal and have made no substantive use of the Services in that period, we will refund that renewal in full;
- if a renewal was charged after you had already cancelled, we will refund it in full;
- if you were not given notice of a price increase before it applied, we will refund the difference or the renewal, at your choice.
5.3 Free trials
Where a free trial is offered, cancel before it ends to avoid a charge. If you are charged within 48 hours of a trial converting and you tell us you intended to cancel, we will refund it.
6. What is not refundable
- Sessions attended in full, or content substantially consumed, outside the windows above.
- Purchases where the request falls outside the stated period and none of the exceptions apply.
- Any Plan terminated by us for breach of the Legal Information, including credential sharing or redistribution of Content.
- Third-party costs you incurred separately, such as application fees, travel, or software you bought elsewhere.
- Outcomes. As set out in our Terms, we do not guarantee an interview, an offer, or any other result, and a refund is not available on the basis that a desired outcome did not occur.
7. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] with:
- the name and email used at purchase;
- the order or receipt number;
- what you bought and when; and
- a short explanation of the reason.
You do not need to justify a request made under the 14-day guarantee in section 3.1, though a sentence on what fell short helps us improve.
We acknowledge every request within 2 business days and aim to decide within 5 business days. If we need more information we will ask promptly.
8. How refunds are paid
Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card or account, for fraud-prevention reasons.
Once we issue a refund, your bank or card issuer controls the remaining timing. Typically:
- credit and debit cards: 5 to 10 business days;
- digital wallets: 3 to 5 business days.
We refund the amount you paid, including tax where charged. Bank fees or currency conversion differences applied by your provider are outside our control and are not reimbursed.
9. Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is wrong, please contact us first. Most issues are resolved faster directly than through a dispute.
Raising a chargeback without contacting us may result in your account being suspended while the dispute is investigated. Where a chargeback is raised for a purchase that was properly supplied and falls outside this policy, we reserve the right to recover the disputed amount and any associated fee, and to decline future purchases.
10. Exceptional circumstances
We understand that serious personal circumstances — illness, bereavement, family emergency — do not fit neatly into a policy. If something of that kind has affected your ability to use what you bought, contact us. We will deal with it sensitively and discreetly, and we will not require detailed evidence.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published at the time you bought. Material changes will be notified to registered users before they take effect.
